Walk Off Weight With Therapy





The Walk Off Weight programme has been created for people who want to make permanent lifestyle changes by starting a new fitness routine in order to lose weight and maintain their preferred weight.
 
Your feet are made for walking.  The Walk Off Weight programme is a 10 week course on an individual basis, which involves a combination of thefollowing therapies:

Counselling
Hypnotherapy
Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) and
Eye Movement Desensitisation & Reprocessing (EMDR)

People overeat for many different reasons and the above combined therapies are used to re-programme your emotional attachment towards food and negative thoughts towards exercise over the next 10 weeks.

During the Walk Off Weight walks, no special equipment is required, however, you may wish to consider bringing the following with you on each Walk Off Weight walk:

  • Please wear layered clothing (as you get warm walking!)
  • Comfortable footwear (suitable for walking)
  • An umbrella or jacket/coat with a hood
  • A bottle of water
  • Sunglasses
  • Lots of enthusiasm … and no excuses!

The Walk Off Weight Programme … Let's Walk & Talk:

Week 1:
  • Walk Off Weight with Therapy (30 minute walk)
  • Hypnotherapy Session (1 hour)

After your hypnotherapy session you will be given the following:
  • Walk Off Weight Walking Diary
  • Food & Emotions Diary
  • Portion Guide
  • Walk Off Weight Motivational MP3 recording

Week 2:
  • Walk Off Weight with Therapy (30 minute walk)
  • Emotional Freedom Technique Session (1 hour)

Week 3:

  • Walk Off Weight with Therapy (30 minute walk)

Week 4:

  • Walk Off Weight with Therapy (30 minute walk)

Week 5:
  • Walk Off Weight with Therapy (30 minute walk)

Week 6:
  • Walk Off Weight with Therapy (30 minute walk)

Week 7:
  • Walk Off Weight with Therapy (30 minute walk)

Week 8:
  • Walk Off Weight with Therapy (30 minute walk)

Week 9:
  • Walk Off Weight with Therapy (30 minute walk)

Week 10:
  • Walk Off Weight with Therapy (30 minute walk)
  • Hypnotherapy Session (1 hour)

How long is the Walk Off Weight programme?
The programme lasts 10 weeks.

Will the walking route be on uneven ground?
No, each walk will be on paved areas for stability and more suitable for the British climate when it rains!

MP3 Recordings
As part of the Walk Off Weight programme, in order to make long-term permanent changes and to reinforce the positive suggestions you will be given the following MP3 recordings:
  • Hypnotherapy Recording (to listen to every night as you drift off to sleep)
  • Positive Affirmations (to listen to during the day or evening when in a safe location)
  • Walk Off Weight Walking Motivational MP3 (for walking between sessions)
(It takes 21 to 30 days for your subconscious mind to begin to start replacing old negative habits with new positive habits.  Within four to six months these habits become second nature.)

Food & Emotions Diary
You will also be provided with a daily food and emotions diary.
(This is not to monitor how much you eat, but to understand why you reach for certain foods at certain times or days).

Do I need to invest in any other equipment?
There are no additional requirements for equipment, however, you may wish to consider the following items:
  • Pedometer (to measure the number of steps you take each day)
  • Arm or Leg Weights
  • Sleep Headphones (to listen to hypnotherapy recording in comfort)
  • Diet Plate & Bowl
These items can be purchased in advance by The Rivenhall Practice.

Can I bring my dog?
Yes, you are more than welcome to bring your dog with you during the Walk Off Weight walks, however, when you are receiving therapy at The Rivenhall Practice on Weeks 1, 2 and 10 you will need to leave your dog at home to avoid any distractions or unexpected barks during therapy.

Where are the walks?
The Walk Off Weight walks take place in the Panshanger area of Welwyn Garden City.
